Blood Wine

Jake Allumer seals the victory for his college by winning the 10,000-meter finals. A post race drug test results in Jake testing positive for blood doping. Striped of his victory and scholarship, Jake faces money problems.

He and several teammates head up to his family's vineyard for the annual "Crushing of the Grapes" and harvest. His friends want to pick up extra cash. Jake wants help from the family holistic medicine man to clean his tainted blood.

Once in his bloodstream, the elixir awakens his ghost twin - a twin that merged with Jake in the womb. As the twin asserts itself, Jake slowly goes insane.

His widowed mother eyes his growing madness with more than just concern. Jake's father became insane and died under dubious circumstances. In an eerie twist of fate, she believes history is repeating itself. As if he sins of the father were passed down to the son.

Added to which, the vineyard teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. Jake will be forced to leave school and sell the property if this harvest is not successful. The mother engages the group in the annual ritual of honoring her dead husband - one drop of blood from all present goes in to the family select blend. Gross!

Jake's girlfriend discloses that she is pregnant to Jake's mother. Upset by Jake's erratic behavior she begins to dig in to Jake's past. She discovers a small shrine in the attic honoring someone named "Blake".

Jake discovers he is about to become a father. The added stress of this news, the disgrace at school, a lost scholarship, pressure at home to make their family wine profitable again all conspire to send Jake in to madness. Or has Jake's twin been alive all this time? Everyone is in danger from Jake or is it his twin brother?

Is Jake doomed to relive his father's legacy or can he outrun his sins?
