Pistilli's first introduction to films was the James Cagney classic Angel's with Dirty Faces. His father began him on the journey of a lifetime by thrusting him into a world of black and white gangsters with heroic men of great stature. Actors like Spencer Tracy (Cptn Courageous), Greggory Peck, Anthony Quinn(Zorba), Kirk Douglas(Lust For Life), Charles Bronson(Hard Times), Steve McQueen, Charles Chaplin, Lon Chaney and the great Bruce Lee all helped inform Pistilli on what it takes to potray a role with depth and dimension. While attending college his first acting teacher inrouduced him to the world of Brando, and Pistilli quickly realized acting before 1951 and after 1951 were entirely different beings. Soon after he spent the next three years of intense Training and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in the heart of New York City. Through the guidance of some wonderful teachers Pistilli's form began to take shape. In his final year at the Academy Pistilli had a breakthrough in his craft when cast as the sociopathic rapist Raul opposite Sofia Carvela in William Mastrosimone's Extemeties. Upon graduation Pistilli was cast as Vin in the Off- Broadway production of Italian American Cantos, based on the True Story of a heroin addicted musician whose downward spiral ended in his premature death. "Pistilli is instantly appealing and sexy in a young John Travolta Way"-Martin Denton nytheatre.com. Not long after Pistilli starred as the lead role of Satchem in the Independant feature Kicking the Dog. (Kickingthedog.com, Imageworks Set for release fall 2008) Most recently Jarrod appeared in a Domino's commercial entitled Hot Tub.
