STYLE
Verses- Vivid, high contrast. Ted races through life, as if on a hamster wheel, in time with the song's progressive beat. His motion is faster than those around him- increases with the song's energy.

Choruses- Young Ted (played by same actor) via a warmly nostalgic, softly bright image.

STORY
Young Ted has the most joyful smile ever.

CUT TO
Same face but older- Ted. Sympathetic. Lovable. Guitar strapped on back. Backstage, about to follow a sign- TALENT SHOW CONTESTANTS Distracted- a group of Cool Kids wave him over.

SONG BEGINS
Ted runs over to Cool Kids hiding out back stage. When he reaches them, HE CONTINUES RUNNING ON THE SPOT.

INTERCUT WITH
On the stage, the HIGH SCHOOL TALENT show is hopping with LVD, dressed like teenagers, playing the song.

Ted, STILL RUNNING IN PLACE, drops his guitar. He tries to fit in but it is as if he is on an INVISIBLE TREADMILL. No one notices.

Others move in slight slow motion, a timing that exudes confidence, while Ted is at a CONSTANT RUNNING PACE THAT MATCHES THE TEMPO OF THE MUSIC.

Cool Kid takes a swig from a bottle- hands it to Ted discretely. Because of his running, Ted spills it all over them.

Pissed, the Cool Kids walk off. Ted follows them, his running picking up speed. HE LEAVES HIS GUITAR BEHIND.

KELLY, his sister, watches him- Disappointed.

CUT TO
0:24
Ted, older, runs past office cubicles.
Members of LVD, in suits, are in each cubicle, playing the song.

Ted in a boardroom making a presentation- STILL RUNNING IN PLACE.

His Boss watches him clumsily try to draw a formula on a flip chart.

Cool Kid from high school is here. He strides to the chart, flips the page- draws a simple ascending line. The Boss applauds. Ted hangs his head, still running.

CUT TO
0:35
Ted runs in place at a bar. A GUITAR PICK is dropped in front of him. It is Kelly. Her soft smile melts part of him- He moves away from her-

LVD play the song in positions around the bar. Ted runs past them-

Toward a group crowding his Boss, including BOSS'S DAUGHTER, who wears bitchiness like perfume.

Ted desperately tries to keep up his running pace- Everyone around him glides effortlessly.

He sneaks into the circle- casually grabs a wine glass- spills it all over himself due to his constant running.

The Boss's daughter laughs at him. He somehow sees this as a good thing.
Later, Ted reluctantly approaches her with a bouquet of 20 dollar roses.
Kelly looks on- Disappointed.

CUT TO
0:58
YOUNG KELLY'S happy face. She watches YOUNG TED rock out on his guitar- Which is homemade from cardboard.

Young Kelly claps as her brother shows off his moves.

CUT TO
1:13
Ted running faster than ever-

Standing in front of a wedding cake with the Boss's daughter, unhappy.

He raises a glass of champagne. Of course, it spills everywhere.

LVD, in tuxes, play the wedding. Ted watches them enviously.

Kelly hands him a gift- A GUITAR STRAP. He smiles.

CUT TO
1:25
Ted on a golf course- finds it impossible to get into his Boss's golf cart while running at that crazy pace.

INTERCUT WITH
LVD, in golf gear, playing in a bunker.

Ted stands over the golf ball, trying to steady his arms.
His frustration peaks as he swings the club- Doing ANYTHING while running like this is impossible. He breaks his club in anger.

CUT TO
1:48
Young Ted and Kelly.

He rocks out to the song on his drum set, made of paper plates.
Young Kelly is delighted at the one man show.

CUT TO
Ted in a cubicle- his body at the brink of complete exhaustion. HIS RUNNING IS RELENTLESS. All because he tries so hard to keep up with people for the wrong reasons.

INTERCUT WITH
LVD in the surrounding cubicles.

2:27
Ted has had enough- HE RUNS.
Finally, he makes real progress.

CUT TO
2:38
Young Ted on his makeshift stage in front of Kelly and her dolls.
He perfectly lip syncs to the song.

CUT TO
3:03
He runs through all the places we've seen him.
Out of the office. Through the golf course. Past his wedding cake.
Past the bar-
To the High School Talent Show.

LVD, now dressed in their own style, rock the song on the stage.

INTERCUT WITH
Running Ted finds his sister. She smiles- HANDS HIM HIS GUITAR.
The one that he left behind all those years ago.
He straps the guitar and FINALLY STOPS RUNNING.

CUT TO
Young Ted takes a bow.

Behind him- a banner that says- I'M GONNA BE A ROCK STAR!

Kelly applauds wildly and hands him a clumsily wrapped gift- A GUITAR.

Young Ted has the most joyful smile ever.

RDeLuca This should win, without a doubt.. I think of this video when I listen to the song. I bet this would be one of those videos that gets a million hits when made. What's up with takin so long to pick the winner?? We gotta work together!

Rina Khadivi Nice man, not so conventional. I really do like the idea. Would be great to see more of your pitches in the future! :)

TIB Thanks for all the great comments!

I completely agree with the style suggesetion- I think the
run and gun shooting method actually enhanaces the
concept. With a couple of simple locations and actors
playing multiple roles, this can be done with a very small
budget.

We can also shoot for free on the Red, which I own, for
a very high quality look.

Thanks again to all who supported this great competition.

KitKaLady I think this one definitely works best with the song. All 5 finalists are great ideas (and so different!) but the running theme is perfect for the song. I think its awesome that the pace of the guy running can match up to the pace of the song.

Hope this wins!

Ritual Pictures These guys are right man, works great with the music. Running "Pardon the Pun" with the rat race theme, and loosing yourself to the chase works out great. Good Luck man.
Hey check out our Oisin Trailer when you get a sec. Finished shooting in Oct. 2008. Almost done editing the short.
